Synopsis

James "Skip" Liberty enlisted in the Army in 1968. During his tour in Vietnam from ‘69-’70, Skip shot 3,100 feet of Super 8 film, just over 3 hours worth. Upon returning to the states, the film was sealed in a box and placed in storage, Skip had never seen the footage he shot. Until now.

Who Are The BLack Cats?

Skip was stationed at the Marble Mountain Air Facility as a member of the 282nd Assault Helicopter Squadron. The 282nd are better known by their nickname, "The Black Cats". Their emblem adorned every helicopter on their flight line, and Skip wore his Black Cat patch on his fatigues for the duration of his tour in Vietnam.
